This Friday I will display my portrait of Bill Murray at the Steel City Secret Cinema event. I chose to draw Bill's Character from Ghostbusters. The frame is equally fabulous. The drawing has gotten some attention from a few of the local media outlets: NextPittsburgh and the cover of the Pittsburgh City Paper. I'm honored & excited. Hopefully, it will sell.


Speaking of selling, I sold my first piece out of the MWFA Waterfront gallery. Stop down and see all the work if you haven't already.

Also I have an illustration in the first issue of Steer Queer, Pittsburgh's Queer Arts Zine. Grab a copy while you can.

And of course it's that time of year again for Art All Night.
My niece is putting in one of her pieces and I will be displaying a brand new painting.  Look for it.

a little late, but better than never.
February was meant to be a milestone, a museum show.
But February in Western PA is never kind.  There were challenges with weather, schedules, and a few uptight parents.
However, the show went on.
I decided to exhibit my drawing skills for my ideas, and I am pleased with the results.
This show marks a turning point in my style and technique.



My drawing relies heavily on lines (more so than my painting) and the lines contain the language. Lines are a recording of body movement. Character is revealed in the movement. The ideas are about the fringe, the periphery, the outsiders.   Digital enhancements are made to the drawing for the sake of size and contrast. It also allows me to add what I call "the flaws": glitches, defects, and all the distractions and psychological filters that prevent us form seeing what is right in front of us. All the things you have to look "through" to clearly "See".

I will have two pieces in Garfield Artworks as part of the GA/GI festival. (Geek Art/ Green Innovators)
The Show is PITTSBURGH ARTISTS AGAINST FRACKING. Over 70 artists in a group exhibition in support of Protect Our Parks, a grassroots local organization fighting to keep fracking out of county parks. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will go to www.protectparks.org.

My work is based on protest signs. Fancy home decor protest signs that you would want to hang on your own front porch. Because this does affect you ... in your own home. And politcal activism can be integrated into your lifestyle. This will be part of Unblurred Friday the 4th 6-10pm. at 4931 Penn Ave. 

Sunday April 6th. 6-9pm
I set up Mia Donna with a show at the GLCC.  Come see lots of great Alternative/ Fetish photography PLUS  Leather goods by Maximus Leather, a rope demo during the night and FIRE! yep, Live fire poi right outside the center on the sidewalk. Free admission. Free parking on Sundays. Not to be missed. 

Later in the month:

Most Wanted Fine Art has acquired a gallery space in South Side Waterfront  area. I will be displaying lots of my work for the grand opening.

And Bill Murray themed art show to accompany a Bill Murray film festival at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont. I created a  Ghostbuster portrait.

Art All Night will be at the end of the month. I have not decided if i will participate yet.
