These days more white people participate in Indian styled sweat lodges than NDN’s do. But they’re not really authentic. The ceremonies is a hodge-podge of stuff they may have heard about or saw in a movie. And it may be mixed with a little eastern philosophy or yoga stuff or this or that; and BOOSH you charge $9000 per person for it.

Most people wouldn’t know an actual real- live- tribal medicine man if they sat next to them on a bus.

The message HAS to get out.
Don’t pay to pray.
Don’t fall for hokey Indian- like new age ceremonies.
If someone claims to be a Shaman or Tribal healer, ask to see their tribal affiliation. Ask to see their tribal card that proves they belong to such and such tribe. Ask about their training. Ask if they can speak the tribal language. (hint; ancient native spirits don’t speak English. Exact wording is important. )
