Remember that Obama mentioned gays in his acceptance speech.
That has never been done before.

Also for the first time an openly gay marching band will be in the inauguration parade.

Its something. It’s a step forward. Except no one is noticing it. Everyone is focused on Rick Warren. The choice of Rick Warren is troubling. It’s a step backward. The LGBT community has every right to offended.

“But the person who leads the nation in prayer on January 20th should be someone asking God to forgive us our sins, not someone who dresses up one of our baser national instincts in pseudo-religious packaging.”

I also dislike the rightwing owned media portraying us as “intolerant” towards Rick Warren; and yet there is no criticism to his intolerance. WHO TOOK WHOSE RIGHTS AWAY?
Maybe we are giving him a power boost with all this attention. It is not enough to just fight, but to fight smart. If all your doing is bitching or moaning or “i-told-you-so”, then really, you aren’t helping. There needs to be something more effective.
